Roughly 6500 languages
And yet they failed me.
Nothing makes sense,
Whenever I try to write about,
How beautiful you make me feel...
How you make me so happy.
How you make my life complete.
How you give me that will;
To compete.
You are the sun,
Your smile is light.
Making flowers bloom,
In the gardens of my heart
And the enlightening life.
Like a bliss of,
A heavenly sight.
I don’t want those languages
But learn your language of love.
I want to keep perfecting myself for life
Just for you.
Everything makes sense then,
Because of you.
You are amazing,
Your smile is amazing.
And I love you.
Poet’s Note
Dear Reader (especially if you’re her),
If you are here looking for polished rhymes and socially approved emotions, leave reading this aside. This isn’t that.
This is a scrapbook of unfiltered affection. Written between heartbreaks and heartbeats. Scribbled in silence and screamed internally at 3:07 a.m. Every line is a dance between what I felt and what language failed to contain.
I have never been good with rules, but I am great at breaking into goosebumps when she smiles. I have never been fluent in all the world’s tongues, but I am practising every day to speak her love language better.
And trust me, Duolingo can’t teach this.
This isn’t about poetry. This is about pursuit. Of becoming more, for someone who makes me believe I already am.
So reread the poetry, slowly. Or fast. Or backwards, if you must.
But know, every word here was kissed by a thought of her.
With all my chaotic love,
#ThatBigFatLove
